CACUL New Academic Librarian of the Year Award

Purpose of the
award:
This award
recognizes innovative ideas and initiatives brought to life by Canadian
academic librarians in colleges and universities who have completed
their MLIS or equivalent within
the last five years. This award is
intended to honour an individual.
Eligibility
criteria:

Recipient must
be a CLA/CACUL member in good standing.

Recipient must
have made an innovative contribution to the profession, either at their
employing library or to librarianship as a whole.

Recipient
must have completed their MLIS or equivalent no more than five (5) years previous to the annual
deadline of this award.

Recipient must
have completed their MLIS or equivalent at a Canadian library
school.

Recipient must
currently work at a Canadian college or university library.
Award
The award will consist of a framed acknowledgment and a prize of $1,000.
Awards paid to an individual in excess of $500 are taxable and a T4A
will be issued.
A complete nomination form must be received by February
28th annually in order for the nomination to proceed into the
consideration process. All nominations will be treated as
confidential. Self-nomination is not
allowed.
