CLA Elections 2009
The polls will open on Thursday, April
2, 2009 and close at midnight
on May 2, 2009 (EDT).
Online Voting Procedure:
Members must be logged in to the members-only
website to vote online.
How to Access Members-only
Site
Using any Internet browser, go to
the members-only website from the CLA home page, www.cla.ca, then click on
“MyCLA”.
You will be required to
“Log-in”. Scroll down and click on the “Log-in”
button. Once you have entered your log-in name and your password, click
on “sign on”. You will be taken to a
“Welcome to MyCLA” page that should have your name
displayed. From this point, you can vote on-line
at: Conference Survey / Vote
Online
If you have changed the default
settings and subsequently have forgotten your log-in name or password,
you will have to contact the CLA office to get your log-in and password
reset. For this or any other problem with logging in, contact the CLA
office at 613-232-9625
or email: info@cla.ca.
Once logged into the Vote Online
site you will be able to view each candidate’s biography as well
as their platform statement.
Non-electronic
voting
For those few members who will be
using paper ballots to vote, your voting package has been mailed to you.
The voting system is exactly the same as in previous years. Your ballot
must reach the CLA office by May 2,
2009.
Poll
Opens:Paper Ballots
will be mailed, and the electronic Ballot will be made available, no
later than April 2, 2009 (Bylaw 6.3.2).
Poll
Closes:Paper Ballots
must be returned by, and the electronic voting will be closed at
midnight (EDT) on
May 2, 2009 (Bylaw
6.3.4).
Elections
Results:The results
will be made public as soon as the Election Committee counts the paper
ballots and verifies the electronic results (Bylaw
6.4.1).
