| Institutional Membership |
Institutional memberships in the Canadian Library
Association/Association canadienne des bibliothèques are open to
all libraries, organizations interested in libraries and library and
information services and commercial entities which supply products to
libraries, librarians and information professionals.
CLA is pleased to offer three levels of institutional membership to fit
the unique needs of your institution, Basic, Enhanced and Premium.

| Personal Membership |
Personal membership is open to all individuals interested in
librarianship, library and information services.
Personal Membership Categories include Student, Retired,
Unemployed/Parental Leave, and Discount. |

| Student Membership |
Student membership is open to all individuals interested in
librarianship, library and information services who are enrolled in a
post-secondary program. Individuals working full-time while being
enrolled in a school program are not eligible for this category.
Students must provide a student ID with their application. |

| Retired Membership |
Retired membership is available for those that have ceased full time
work and are 55 and older. This category is for those who wish to
continue supporting the work of the library and information community
while keeping up-to-date with the latest information. |

| Unemployed/Parental Leave/Long term Disability
Membership |
This membership category is open to those who are temporarily
unemployed while they look for work or while on long-term leave (e.g.
parental leave; long-term disability). Individuals must submit a letter
requesting this category and provide basic details with their membership
application. This information is kept strictly confidential. This
category is provided to individuals for up to two consecutive
years. |

| Discount Membership |
Discount membership is open to individuals who have an annual salary
of $40,000 and less. Individuals must submit employment salary proof
such as pay stubs with their application. This information is kept
strictly confidential. |

| Canadian Association for School Libraries
(CASL) Corresponding Membership |
CASL Corresponding Membership is open to practicing or retired
teacher-librarians, and school librarians or teachers at the elementary
or secondary school level. This membership category is open to
individuals only. Vendors, school boards, school trustees (as a
collective board) are not eligible for corresponding membership.

(CLTA) Library Boards/Trustee Membership |
CLTA Boards/Trustee membership is open to Public Library Boards.
This institutional membership category provides library board and its
trustees a variety of benefits.
