We regret to announce that CACUL Conference Grants have been suspended for 2011.

CACUL is pleased to announce that up to 3 grants of up to $1,800 each will be awarded to attend this year's annual CLA Conference.

Grants are intended for new librarians, librarians who are unemployed or employed in a contract position, or a library technician.

Purpose of these grants:

  • To promote membership in the Canadian Association of College and University Libraries.
  • To provide financial assistance to those who do not have sufficient funding to attend the CLA Annual Conference.

Eligibility Guidelines Governing Award:

  • New librarians who have received an MLS within the last two years from a Canadian library school; librarians who are unemployed or in a contract position at the time of application; library technicians.
  • Applicants must be personal members of CACUL.
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have not attended a CLA conference.
  • Applicants who have received funding to attend the conference from another CLA source will not be eligible for this grant.

Grants will be allocated to meet conference-related expenses to cover: travel, and/or general registration fees and/or cost of accommodation. If more than 3 applications are received, awards will be made on the basis of a draw from eligible applications in each category received by March 31 of the conference year.
