To provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and information
pertaining to the development of library and information service for the
aging in Canada.

To determine the library and information needs of older Canadians,
with particular reference to requirements occasioned by the social,
physical and economic aspects of the aging process.

To cooperate with other library and non-library agencies working
with the aged.

To facilitate the coordination of existing library services for the
aging.

To establish guidelines for developing and implementing library
services for the aging.

To encourage the effective allocation of personnel and resources to
meet the library needs of older Canadians.

To encourage the utilization of library materials and services
among older adults in Canada.
