Canadian Library Association Announces 2011
Scholarship Winners
(Ottawa, June 15, 2011) - The Canadian Library Association (CLA) is
pleased to announce the awarding of the CLA Dafoe and H.W. Wilson
Scholarships. These scholarships are awarded annually to a student
entering an ALA-accredited degree program in library and information
studies.
Hope Hutchins of Kingston, ON is being awarded the CLA Dafoe
Scholarship ($5000). Sarah Felkar of Vancouver, BC is being awarded the
H.W. Wilson Scholarship ($2000).Criteria for the scholarships include
academic achievement, leadership potential and a demonstrated interest
in the profession.
The CLA Dafoe and H.W. Wilson Scholarships have been awarded by CLA
for over 25 years and demonstrates a significant commitment on the part
of CLA and H.W. Wilson in supporting the profession.
The Canadian Library Association is Canada's largest national and
broad-based library association, representing the interests of public,
academic, school and special libraries, professional librarians and
library workers, and all those concerned about enhancing the quality of
life of Canadians through information and literacy.
