for a full-time Youth Services Librarian 2 position. This position is located at the Woodlawn Public Library, 31 Eisener
Boulevard, Dartmouth, N.S. B2W 0J1.
Major
Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Woodlawn Branch Manager and Teen Services
ResourceManager, this position carries out
professional duties associated with information services, collection
development and programming to ensure the highest quality service
delivery.
- Supervises staff assigned to branch=s youth
services.
- Participates in youth services collection
development.
- Assists with planning and implementing staff training
and development programs.
- Assists Woodlawn Branch Manager in reviewing branch
operations to ensure relevance to user needs.
- Assists Branch Manager in developing service
priorities for Woodlawn Youth Services.
- Acts in the absence of the Branch
Manager.
- In cooperation with the Branch Manager selects,
trains and evaluates staff as appropriate.
- Develops and implements teen programming.
- Participates in Regional Committees as
appropriate.
- Operates within designated budgets.
- Assists with development and implementation of
marketing plans (eg. writes Guide copy, speaks to groups, liaises with
media and community groups).
Application Requirements:
- MLIS degree from an accredited library
school
Plus
- 1 year library experience including supervisory
experience

Woodlawn Public Library.
This is a unionized
position
Hours of Work: While subject to change in accordance
with the collective agreement, the normal hours of work will
be: 70 hours biweekly- includes daytime,
evenings and weekends (Schedule of hours to be
determined at a later date)
Salary:
Annual salary: $44,884.63 - $51,507.17 (5
steps)
Hourly: $24.57 - $28.19
