Library Schools and Technology

For those of us in academic public services, September and January tend to be "no go" months. The focus is almost entirely on reference and instruction. Meetings are cancelled, projects are pushed back. A frustrating fact of life. Not that I don't love reference or teaching!
So...as there might be radio silence from many of the contributors to this blog this month, I thought I would ask the students out there a question of interest to me: what sort of information technologies are you learning (or learning about) in library school these days? I've been out for 5 years now and I'm curious, as technology was not a large part of the curriculum at the school I attended. Tell me, as you learning about Content Management Systems and dynamic webpages? SQL? Blogs, wikis and RSS? Do you feel that the technology education you receive is adequate?

I'd also like to know how important you think technology will be to your career as a librarian. there's several schools of thought on the issue, ranging from librarians should be programmers to librarians outside of systems departments don't need technology skills at all. What do you think?
