Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Why "Info*Nation"?
Are you guys agents of the Canadian Library Association (CLA)?
Who are the people behind this project?
I work in a library already. How can I get involved?
Who should submit their profile?
• It sounds like information (and information is what we do)
• Nation implies citizenship (we don’t want people to just join our profession – we want them to become active citizens and participants in the library community)
• A nation is diverse and the nation of library personnel should reflect that diversity
• It sounds better than www.choose-a-career-in-libraries.ca

Are you guys agents of the Canadian Library Association (CLA)?
Yes – and no. This site is not your grandma’s CLA that’s for sure – our colours are orange, lime, and seagreen for goodness sake. This project is brought to you by the CLA President's Council on the 8Rs involving people from across the nation. We chose a separate domain name and attitude for the site because we want the whole profession to benefit - not just one particular association.

I work in a library already. How can I get involved?
Now that’s the spirit. If you’re passionate about what you do and are willing to share your story to help promote the profession, visit our submission page. We'll be updating the profiles every so often to keep the website fresh. You can also spread the word about our site when you encounter people curious about work in libraries. And if you're REALLY excited and want to be a part of maintaining the site and keeping the project going, contact us. Fresh blood is always welcome.

Who should submit their profile?
Anyone in the information professions (yes, we know that's a broad definition). If we are to represent the diversity of the library world accurately we need contributions from academic librarians, paraprofessionals, library technicians, public librarians, school librarians, archivists, and special librarians- like we said: anyone in the information professions.
