Why I love my job
I love my job, mostly because it is so varied. I never really know what I may be doing on a daily basis. My official title is "Serials and Systems Coordinator." Yes, I do oversee all our print serial subscriptions but also so much more. I'm the basic computer troubleshooter for all library and staff computers, the liaison with our Computing Services Department, Plant Operations (in regards to facility needs), other campus departments and most recently between our library and Concordia Lutheran Seminary Library during the process of them joining the NEOS Consortium as a branch of our library. There are budget areas that I am responsible for and staff that I supervise.
Why I chose a career in libraries
I started off as a parent volunteer in a school library. After five years I thought I would like to be paid for doing something I enjoyed. I went to school to obtain my two year library technician diploma and graduated in 1998. I haven't looked back since and am enjoying where life has been taking me. I'm always looking forward to my next adventure.
