Why I love my job
I am a one woman traveling librarian (library technician) who provides service to the rural areas of Inverness, Richmond and Guysborough counties in Nova Scotia. I love my job because of the people, because I am providing a service for rural people, because I like to drive and because I have a helpful network of people in the office that make my job easier or as easy as it can be under the circumstances.
Why I chose a career in libraries
I have been in the Eastern Counties Regional Library system for almost 30 years. Worked on bookmobiles, managed a branch for 23 years and am now doing rural services and in that time I have earned my library technician diploma through distance education. I have known that I wanted to work in libraries since I was in grade 7. (What a long time ago). I believe in libraries now just as much and more than I did 35 years ago.
