National Policies and Comments

Elementary and Secondary Schools: the role, challenges and financial conditions of schools and school library resources in Canada.
This report, prepared for the National Library of Canada in 2001 "concludes that school libraries in Canada are suffering from declines in the public funding and the professional staffing required to meet the needs of the nation's children."

Achieving Information Literacy
The new CSLA and ATLC Canadian School Library Standards, "Achieving Information Literacy", is the most significant Canadian School Library publication printed to date. Developed jointly by the Canadian School Library Association, and the Association for Teacher-Librarianship in Canada.

When the Censor Comes. 1996 Book and Periodical Council of Canada. A document designed primarily for teachers, librarians and booksellers, which offers basic information about dealing with would-be censors.
